Gli Starcontrol sono una band il cui genere, ibrido di sonorità new wave, richiami post-punk, eighties e indie contemporaneo è stato definito da alcuni “spleen wave”. La loro musica è la malinconia di un pomeriggio d’estate infinito e sospeso nel blu, un’impellenza punk procrastinata per l’ora del tè, un ricordo di notti passate a rubare pannocchie con gli amici, il male di vivere che ti siede di fronte in una stanza vuota alla luce di una lampadina, il tentativo di riportare indietro le cose perdute, una speranza. All’attivo hanno un omonimo EP di sette pezzi rilasciato all’inizio del 2011 ed un EP di cinque tracce registrato a Pesaro presso lo Studio Waves (BeForest, M!R!M, Seaside Postcards, Cosmetic, Soviet Soviet…) uscito a Maggio 2012, oltre ad una gran quantità di live (alcuni degni di nota come opening act nella data milanese di Zola Jesus al Magnolia, la partecipazione al festival indipendente A Night Like This ed i concerti tenuti fuori dai patri confini in Germania e Svizzera).

Starcontrol is a band whose sound, hybrid of new wave sonority, post–punk lures, eighties and contemporary indie, it’s been called by some “spleen wave”.
Their music is the melancholy of an endless, hanging in the blue, midsummer afternoon, a punk urgency procrastinated for tea time, a memory of nights spent stealing cobs with friends, the ‘mal de vivre’ that seats in front of you in an empty room under the light of a bulb, the attempt of bringing back something lost, an hope.
At the moment they’ve got an homonym EP of seven tracks released at the beginning of 2011, a five track EP recorded in Pesaro at the Studio Waves (Soviet Soviet, Be Forest, M!R!M, Seaside Postcards…) released in May 2012, as well as many lives – some of them are worth a mention like the opening of Zola Jesus concert at Magnolia and the participation at the independent festival ‘A Night Like This’.
